In this video, I demonstrate how I recreated an ISOBUS VT/UT (Virtual Terminal / Universal Terminal) display using a Raspberry Pi 5 and AgIsoStack++.
The Raspberry Pi 5 acts as an ISOBUS Virtual Terminal, communicating over the ISOBUS network with an EPEC EC44 controller.
The EC44 is programmed in CODESYS and controls a CANopen H-bridge module that drives a linear actuator.
🔧 System architecture:
Raspberry Pi 5 running AgIsoStack++ → emulated ISOBUS VT/UT
ISOBUS communication with EPEC EC44
EC44 controls a CANopen H-bridge module
Linear actuator position feedback
Real-time position visualization on the ISOBUS display
This setup demonstrates:
ISOBUS VT implementation using AgIsoStack++
Communication between ISOBUS and CANopen
Integration of CoDeSys-based control logic
Closed-loop actuator control with visual feedback
Rapid prototyping of ISOBUS-compatible systems
This project shows how open-source tooling combined with industrial hardware can be used for development, testing, and education in ISOBUS environments.
