while we were flying one day an officer from the national guard come by and told us that they were expecting a group of helicopters to land in about 45 mins and that if we could ground all flying till they leave, we gladly agreed. We sat and awaited there approach with camera ready. After they had left we got a chance to talk to a few of the soldiers, they told us they were out on a training mission and that it was a crazy return flight due to the fact that they were delayed from leaving the base they were at because one of the black hawks had engine problems and they waited while the mechanics fixed it, and that they drew straws to see who got unlucky enough to ride in the one with the issues. Obviously the flight went without a hitch.
it was pretty cool to witness this in person and it will always be a good memory.
As of today 5/14/17 that was the first and only time they landed here.
