CARMEN MIILITUM AETERNUM is what happens after the march discovers memory and still refuses to stop. The rhythm remains military, but now it drags ravens, cold mail, names cut into wood, burial earth, and the smell of home bread back into the line. It is not a triumph song. It is the point where victory has stopped sounding clean and the unit keeps singing anyway because explaining the cost in prose would take too long.
I wanted exhaustion here without softness. The camp still stands, the order still stands, but the road now carries memory with it: brothers buried, smoke in the lungs, old iron in the hand, and the chorus repeated because repetition is easier than confession. SUNO provided the mournful machinery, DALL-E the image, and the research on Roman detail and Latin vocabulary ran through ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot, and the rest of the wire-fed lamentation committee. Use it however you like; a citation is appreciated if you want your grave-robbing to look ceremonial.
The names stay on purpose. So do the ravens.
