Exploring Panamint City: The Ghost Town's Legacy

Описание: Come along on our Panamint City hike as our backpacking adventure takes us up the waterfalls of Surprise Canyon searching for this abandoned silver mining ghost town in Death Valley, CA. We explore The Castle, The Hilton, The Smokestack, and other structures within this abandoned 1870 historic Old West boom town. The 7-mile hike involves climbing waterfalls, crawling under fallen trees, and walking up loose gravel without an actual trail up 6,400 feet. It is a grueling hike with 20+ pounds on your back.
Once you FINALLY see the famous smoke stack you find that motivation to push yourself the next half-mile and next hour to reach the city. You find old buildings to explore along with many, many mines and old mining equipment. I hope you get to visit one day, but if you never make it come along with us.
