Fresh heat incoming on the label from eclectic DJ and producer Friend Within, the artist behind previous Toolroom hits ‘The Truth’ and ‘Waiting’, Friend Within returns with a harder, Speed Garage inspired cut that’s already doing the damage throughout the live circuit; from festivals to intimate clubs globally - ‘Monkeys Bars’ is 2022’s hidden gem.

Friend Within himself is an artist with a rich discography with previous releases on DIRTYBIRD, Hypercolour, Rinse, Stress, Fools Gold and a string of hits on Toolroom. Friend Within is an artist in tune with Underground House Music. After releasing his debut album ‘Hope’ last year, a dance floor focused LP longing for the return to clubland and live music, ‘Monkey Bars’ is the relief in the album's longing.

The record itself is built around its roughed-up drum groove, a deep, rolling bass line topped with 90’s era chord stabs throughout, ‘Monkey Bars’ is a record that tethers the line between club slammer and a quirky House classic.
