Описание: Salento is the first municipality founded in the department of Quindío in Colombia. The village has a little less than 4000 inhabitants, a little more than 7000 if we add all the inhabitants of the nearby fincas. Salento has preserved its traditional colonial architecture, typical of the eje cafetero region, called bahareque. It is one of the many colorful villages of western Colombia.
Tourism in Salento consists of both foreigners and locals from all over the country to admire the very special nature of the coffee area.
Salento is built on a small plateau, bordered by the Quindío River and surrounded by green mountains and coffee plantations. The summits of the surrounding small hills can be seen from any street in the village.
