Labeling conical (cone shaped) products requires the labeling system to smoothly and accurately transfer crescent-shaped labels over a vacuum transfer grid and onto the rotating product. And, having a flacid (soft) product creates another wrinkle to the application (labeling people do not like any wrinkles whether actual or metaphoric).
This is where a product mandrel is used. The oprator places the product onto the mandrel. Depressing a foot switch, the carriage is raised and a label is merged onto the product. The R310 is a table top model that can easily and accurately label up to 6,000 products per day.
