In this video, we take a walk through Glasgow at Christmas to look at the current state of buying video games in physical shops in 2025. From Frasers, John Lewis, and HMV, to retail park staples like Currys and Smiths Toys, this isn’t about deal-hunting - it’s about the experience.

As gamers, we grew up with proper game shops. Places where you could browse shelves, compare prices, trade games, and speak to staff who actually knew what they were talking about. At Christmas especially, those shops mattered - not just for gamers, but for parents, grandparents, and relatives trying to buy the right present.

That experience feels like it’s disappearing.

Along the way, we also take a trip down memory lane, remembering some of the lost legends of the West of Scotland gaming scene, including G-Force in Glasgow and the old Games Centre in Irvine/Kilmarnock - shops that were more than retail spaces, they were communities.

This video isn’t about blaming one store or praising another. It’s about asking a bigger question:
