over time and personal experience, the importance of Ground Handling is under rated and often ignored.
You just left the school, fresh and hopeful of the freedom to fly by yourself, no instructors, no radio, just freedom.
Then often the frustration kicks in, no longer is it the perfect school conditions! the site is not as clear or open. there are more pilots around, on the ground and in the air.
The wind is not as predicted, but you are there anyway. I've seen pilots stand on site, gear remains in the bag or worse, they turn around and go home.
crazy thing is, there is always a way to make the most of the day.
Get your gear out, get the wing above your head and GROUND HANDLE!
it's builds skills, confidence and opens opportunities to make the most of more situations in which may at first seem lost, but will at some point be the best time you were waiting for.
