What began as just a vague wish to age gracefully became an intentional way of seeing, filled with meaning.
Wabi-sabi spread through the tea ceremony, even to farmers. The word wabi once carried the sadness of having little, or the quiet sorrow of samurai who, despite years of effort, never reached success. Their struggles were described as ""wabishii"" - silent but beautiful, heavy with experience.
This painting is about that.
True elegance and sophistication come with time. Subtle layers and a simple composition express the quiet return of confidence, rooted in everything we’ve lived through.
