East Los delves deep into the contradictory world of Chicano gang life providing an authenticity not yet depicted in the gangster genre.  

A gang member named Frank “Boxer” Hernandez struggles to control his emotions while battling his own demons from his past. He must choose between loyalty to his neighborhood or to his family -- who are slowly slipping away. Will Boxer break the vicious cycle of violence and walk away? Or will he continue to raise his sons in darkness?
