IUP Field School at Squirrel Hill Archaeological Preserve

Описание: Squirrel Hill Archaeological Preserve, a Johnston-phase Monongahela village (ca. 1450-1590), is owned and preserved by The Archaeological Conservancy. Since 2016 students from Indiana University of Pennsylvania have been participating in summer field schools at this site which lies near near the modern town of New Florence, Pennsylvania. This video was written and produced by graduate students in the Public Archaeology seminar in the Applied Archaeology MA program at Indiana University of Pennsylvania after the summer 2024 field school session at the Squirrel Hill site.

SPECIAL NOTE:
The term "MCT" refers to the Monongahela Cultural Tradition, and is not a standard archaeological term, nor is it a term used by Indigenous Communities."
