This Black Sesame Chicken is something you’ve got to try! 😍 It’s full of deep, nutty flavor from roasted sesame and spiced just right. Not your usual chicken curry—this one has a bold twist and still super easy to make!
I served it with plain rice and it tasted amazing, but you can enjoy it with roti or buttery garlic rice too. If you’re bored of the same old chicken recipes, give this one a shot. Just a few simple steps and the taste is next level 🙌

Ingredients :
1⁄2 cup black sesame
7 medium size chicken thigh
1 big size sliced onion
1 tbsn crushed ginger garlic
1⁄4 tspn turmeric powder
1 tspn red chilli powder
1 tspn cumin powder
1 tspn garam masala powder
2 tspn crushed coriander seeds
mustard oil
handful of coriander leaves
lemon juice
2 bayleaves
2 dry red chilli
3-4 green chilli
1 black cardamom
1 small piece of cinnamon stick
3-4 clove
1-2 cup hot water
Steps :
1. In a bowl marinate the chicken with turmeric powder, mustard oil, salt and pepper. Mix it well and set it aside for at least 15–20 minutes.
2. In a pan on low heat dry roast the black sesame seeds until they start to pop and release a nutty aroma, Let them cool then grind them into a fine powder.
3. Now in a pot heat some oil add black cardamom, coriander seeds, cinnamon stick, cloves and dry red chilies, Let them temper until fragrant.
4. Now add ginger and garlic and cook for a minute or until they turn golden in colour.
5. Now add sliced onions along with a pinch of sugar and cook until they turn golden brown and caramelized.
6. Add all the dry spices (dry red chili, cumin powder, garam masala powder) along with salt and a splash of water. Mix well and cook for 1 minute.
7. Now add the marinated chicken, mix well with the spices and cook for 4-5 minutes.
8. Now add the black sesame powder. Stir everything together so the chicken is well coated.
9. Cook for 3–4 minutes or until the oil starts to separate from the edges.
10. Now add hot water, cover the pot and cook for 10–12 minutes or until the chicken is fully cooked.
11. Switch off the flame add green chilies, chopped coriander leaves and a splash of lemon juice.
12. Mix well cover the pot and let it rest for at least 7–8 minutes before serving.
13. Serve hot with bread, rice, roti or just as it is — it’s delicious any way you like! 😊
