Man my first cover in like 5 months. Longest break i've taken since I started doing these covers, and I thought the gap between Bury The Light and Price of Freedom was a big one lol. Sadly that's just life, I honestly didn't mean to disappear or drop off but the end of last year was so chaotic. Between buying a house in July, to getting hit hard by Hurricane Helene (we live in WNC), to turning 30, raising my daughter who just turned 2, now these wild fires everywhere it's just been survival mode after survival mode lol. I began this project like 7 months ago when my best friend joined the Diamond Tier patreon and requested EITHER this song, or for me to start writing original tracks again. So I opted for the original stuff, started like 4 different projects and ideas, which are coming along but not as quickly and solidly as i'd like. So then I figured let's do this cover, I love Dark Souls and need more FromSoft representation on this channel anyways. However the hard part about their OST's is theyre so damn orchestral and chaotic it was so difficult to even put this project together with how many layers and things that happen in this track. So i took a few creative liberties with it to make it my own and more cohesive while sticking to the original to the best of my abilities. It's not my best work, after so long on it I just had to sign seal and deliver it and say it's done so I can move on to other ventures and get over my music slump lol, that being said, i still don't think it's bad by any means. Just a whole different beast of a project to tackle and I learned some things from it. I hope you guys enjoy it and don't let the first cover of Year IV flop!
