This amount is being given away as an interest free loan... Several states have a variation of this scheme, but to understand it, let’s take the example of Uttar Pradesh...

They have budgeted Rs 1000 crores in the last financial year to give such financial assistance to 1 lakh entrepreneurs annually, thus aiming to provide this assistance to about 10 lakh entrepreneurs in these 10 years...

The Scheme is called the CM Yuva Scheme - where in the first phase, an interest free loan of up to Rs 5 lakhs is given... and in the second phase another up to Rs 10 lakhs is given.

The banks are instructed only to take the principal repayment and no interest... and no collateral or security required.

The entrepreneur will have to put in close to 10% of the project cost from their own savings, and the Govt will provide the balance.

Repayment has to be done only of the principal within 4 years... where no repayment is due in the first 6 months.

The business can be any small enterprise - in services, manufacturing, a franchise... across sectors and categories.

As of Jan 2026, the UP govt is said to have already disbursed Rs 100 crores across over 2500 applicants.

For Madhya Pradesh, the scheme can be accessed at merayuva dot mp dot gov dot in
