On 8 February 2023, UNESCO organized a cultural event ‘Empowering Citizens through Heritage Restoration, Culture and Education in Mosul and Basra’ to highlight the achievements and impact of the project ‘Reviving Mosul and Basra Old Cities’ funded by the European Union in the framework of the UNESCO’s initiative “Revive The Spirit of Mosul”, since its launch in 2018.
