His new ‘I NEVER LIKED YOU’ album is further evidence that his artistic identity is broad and complex. The title comes off like a juvenile text response to being left on read. But it’s also a defensive phrase, a means of shielding true emotions. Future gets away with minimal interviews and a furtive social media presence because he wisely builds a gripping mythology into his music...and because he’s so damn prolific. So who is he? Check the music for answers. The 20-plus albums he’s made since his proper debut in 2012 are diary entries, and like any autobiography the lines between truth and fiction get blurry. Like many, we’ve been fans for a while, previously capturing Official Live Performances with him in 2019.
