This duo was written by my mentor and friend Patrick Roux for Lorenzo Micheli and Matteo Mela. Steve and I have performed this work in a number of concerts together and it was finally time to record it.
Roux's earliest compositions were inspired by the great tango composer Astor Piazzolla. The influence of Piazzolla is evident in the tango rhythms employed throughout Hier, aujourd'hui, plus jamais.
Steve and I are excited to announce that we've recently commissioned a work by Patrick Roux, which we will premiere on tour in the Fall of 2018 with Debut Atlantic.
