March 22, 2018 // What happens when journalists from opposite sides of the Atlantic come together to tackle polarization?
Through the Finding Common Ground initiative, seven engagement-driven media projects—three from Europe and four from the United States—received funding, mentorship, and a platform to explore new ways of connecting people across ideological, cultural, and geographic divides.
From pop-up newsrooms to dialogue-driven radio, each project invited people to look up from their screens, meet face-to-face, and engage in deeper, more civil conversation across silos.
This video captures the story of that collaboration—culminating at the International Journalism Festival in Perugia, where grantees shared what they learned and what’s possible when journalism centers relationships over reach.
