New 2015 Turtle Wax ICE Liquid Wax Review & Water Test

Описание: This is a review and comparison between the previous version of Turtle Wax's ICE Liquid Wax and their latest reformulated version for 2015.

Although the new version is very similar to its predecessor, as you can see from my water test the short-term surface tension is not quite as high or as durable as the previous version. Therefore, if you judge your wax or sealant's durability based on water beading, you will notice that the beading on this product is not going to be as tight as the last version. It starts out strong in the beginning, but after a few minutes of rinsing and after washing the car down with the new ICE Wash and Wax soap, the surface tension is reduced enough to see a noticeable difference. After the first wash and rinse I would categorize it as a "hybrid" product where the water repellency is still at a high level, the sheet that develops while flooding falls very quickly off of the paint, but the beading is not quite as tight as its previous version. Many products behave the same way, but for those who enjoy the highest form of water repellency for whatever reason, you'll notice that now the new ICE Paste Wax stands out to be a clear choice if water beading is your highest priority.

Overall this is a simple wax to work with for me. I found it easy enough to spread on the paint and remove. And although there is nothing on the box or bottle that says it can be applied in direct sunlight, I applied it directly in the sun in 90*F weather without issue or noticeable streaking in a separate test. This wax is very comparable with the previous version, the smell and texture and the way that it applies and removes all behaves very similar. Again, the only major difference I could tell is with its short-term surface tension durability. In the box you will get a microfiber towel and foam applicator pad. For $15, I think it's still very competitive with other products in its price range that you can find over the counter.
