India's private space industry is set to witness a big milestone as Skyroot Aerospace prepares to launch its first orbital rocket, Vikram-1. The mission, named Mission Aagaman, will lift off from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC-SHAR) in Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh, on Saturday, July 18.

“No private company in India has ever designed and developed a rocket which can put a satellite into orbit, and to get a launchpad ready for a launch. This itself is a very large international milestone and the first time in the country,” Chandana said.
Vikram-1 will carry four satellites during Mission Aagaman. One belongs to Skyroot Aerospace, while two are from Indian startups Grahaa and Cosmoserve. The fourth satellite is from German startup Dcubed.
