The Kachua Loknath Mandir, also known as Kachua Dham, is considered the birthplace of the 18th-century Hindu saint, Baba Lokenath Brahmachari. Located in the village of Kachua within West Bengal's North 24 Parganas district, the temple is a popular pilgrimage site.
Location: The temple is situated in Kachua, under the Swarupnagar area in the Basirhat II Block of North 24 Parganas.
Visiting Time: It is open daily from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., and again from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m..
Best Time to Visit: Arriving before 11:30 am is recommended, especially if you wish to witness the Aarti and partake in the temple's Bhog.
Temple Atmosphere: Visitors describe the temple as a peaceful and serene place with a spiritual vibe.
Local Attractions: The temple is located in a quiet, rural setting. Some visitors have explored nearby fields and an old Kali temple name "Kankra Dados Kali Mandir" , Bhagawan Ganguly (guru of Loknath Baba) & Benimadhav Birthplace.
How to get there
By road: From Kolkata, the journey by car takes approximately 2 to 2.5 hours, covering about 50 km. The route is typically via the Kolkata - Basirhat Rd/Taki Rd. However, be aware that some parts of the road may not be in good condition.
By train:Take a Hasnabad Local train from Sealdah station.
Get off at the Kankra Mirja Nagar station.
From there, you can take a Toto for a 10–15 minute ride to the temple.
