Описание: In this simulation done with SpaceSim V6, using 7 million particles, you can see how Earth's gravity rips the moon apart due to the Roche limit. The gravity of Earth exceeds that of the moon, causing it to be torn apart. If the simulation were allowed to run much longer, the debris would slowly form a new ring system.
