Organic farming with Joe Orsi in Juneau — In the Southeast Alaska Garden with Heidi Rader

Описание: In this video, Joe Orsi shares his experience starting a small organic farm in Juneau, Alaska. After a successful sale at the local farmers market he was hooked. For over 30 years, Joe has grown crops from apples to zucchinis in Southeast Alaska. The primary crops he grows for sale are rhubarb, garlic, carrots, potatoes, and shallots, zucchini, and cucumbers. Joe has conducted numerous trials over the years on different crops and varieties as well as season extension techniques such as Agribon. He relies heavily on local seaweed as a fertilizer. He is also an Alaska Master Gardener and has helped others learn to garden in Juneau.
