The Fenway section of Boston hosts one of the city's most famous landmarks - and the home of the Boston Red Sox. Fenway Park, of course.
This "cathedral of Boston" (as the creepy guy in The Town called it) was built in 1912. Mercifully, it survived the wrecking ball with 108 years of history and memories intact. The nearby Citgo sign in Kenmore Square also survives.
With a large population of college students, the Fenway area is home to an assortment of bars and clubs including the House of Blues on Lansdowne Street.
Fenway has seen a great deal of redevelopment in the past decade, with new luxury residential buildings and retail space popping up, particularly along Boylston Street.
The Fens is an area of parkland that surrounds the Fenway-Kenmore neighborhood. It was established in 1879 and designed by Frederick Law Olmstead. Don't worry, I brake for ducks!
