On September 26th 1997. Garuda Indonesia flight 152 crashes in low visibility while on approach to Medan Airport. The crew made a fatal mistake in making a wrong turn which lead them off course. The plane struck the treetops in rural Indonesia bring the plane down. All 234 people on board were killed in the crash.
