Is ham radio dying ? (Ssb) and what can you do about it?

Описание: I personally think single sideband on ham radio voice mode is dying out .
since the beginning of ft8 it's taken away a lot of operators that now have an alternative to dealing with arrogant Pricks on the band. Sue due to bad behavior and other issues people have flocked to other modes.
so what can we do about it? well we can make ourselves available to answer people's calls. we can participate in the parks on the air. I don't personally think most of the activity Nets need any assistance but that is one way to be active on SSB. but there are fewer people calling CQ to have a conversation these days.
contesting is just a bunch of fake numbers exchanged so they might as well just switch to ft8 as well. they're not doing anything to support ham radio except for consumerism when they purchased the equipment to pollute the band with fake signal reports and interference.
I personally think that contesting is a downfall to ham radio. I don't think that most of these people ever do anything experimental or anything DIY they just purchase equipment and their competitive and they just want to get an award.
they're like a person that wants a fast car to race at the track but doesn't want to build it.
they don't care how it works they don't want to deal with it they just want to compete.
and honestly I think that has nothing to do with the spirit or the foundation of amateur radio.
these people could probably insert any hobby into this particular mentality it could be doing competitive golfing they could be doing competitive games of cards they could be doing competitive knitting for all I care who can knit the most sweaters wins the contest
