The Mine, located in Derbyshire, has a rich history dating back to the 17th century. Initially worked for lead from the 1640s until 1885, the mine saw extensive operations with a Cornish engine, chimney, and winding engine.
After a period of dormancy, the Mine was reopened in 1985 to extract fluorspar and barytes, with lead ore and zinc as by-products. The mine continued operations until recent years when it was placed on "care and maintenance" due to financial challenges
