Using the land rover series 2 diff as an example I show the viewer how to measure the pinion height so that the pinion gear will mesh with the crown wheel correctly using slip gauges and a ground steel bar. I then explain and demonstrate the whole process I use to set up the pinion shaft pre load on the Rover diff Pinion bearings.
