A research team at the National Autonomous University of Mexico just published a breakthrough solar forecasting system in the Journal of Geophysical Research: Space Physics. The remarkable thing: during peer review, the sun fired off a series of powerful eruptions on its far side that no one knew about — and the model had already predicted exactly that pattern.
