The State Visit, scheduled from February 5 to February 10, will be Herminie’s first official trip to India since taking office in October last year. It also comes at a symbolic moment, as India and Seychelles mark 50 years of diplomatic relations.

The two countries share maritime boundaries in the Indian Ocean, and Seychelles is considered a key maritime partner under India’s Vision MAHASAGAR, which focuses on maritime security, regional stability, and development through partnerships. During the visit, President Herminie will meet the President of India and hold talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, covering bilateral cooperation, regional security, and global issues.

The visit also builds on recent diplomatic momentum following the Vice President of India’s trip to Seychelles in October 2025. Beyond New Delhi, President Herminie will travel to Chennai and Mumbai to participate in business events aimed at boosting trade, investment, and economic ties.
