Описание: Having a knife placed to your throat can be very intimidating. Nick Drossos takes us some effective ways to counter this type of knife attack. In the case of a mugging situation, it is recommended to give your money or belongings and comply with the attacker's demand.

It's always better to be safe than sorry. However, in a similar type of knife attack with a different objective, such as violence or a tentative of abduction, a static knife attack should be stopped and controlled by trapping the knife hand and striking your attacker right away.

Remember however, that prior to making your move; you will need to use a strategy called "pattern interrupt" to distract your attacker. This process starts by asking him questions, so that he cannot focus on cutting you. As your attacker will be answering or thinking about your question, that will be the best time to deliver your powerful blows. These first strikes will take him by surprise. You definitely want to bank on that.

To recap, if the attacker wants your money or your belongings give it away (but always stay on high alert and ready to fight back if things get worse). Alternatively, if your attacker wants to bring you to another location or wants to abduct or hurt you, you will need to take action at one point in order to save your life.
