Her case became globally known when Time magazine featured her disfigured face on its cover in 2010 with the caption: "What Happens If We Leave Afghanistan?" The image sparked international outrage and discussions about women’s rights in Afghanistan.

Aisha was later taken to the United States, where she underwent reconstructive surgery with the help of humanitarian organizations. She has since become an advocate for women's rights, sharing her story to raise awareness about violence against women.
