Before I had a Youtube channel, I restored a sporterized Karabiner 88 back to nearly it's original configuration.
I recently acquired a second Kar 88, however this one had been very crudely sporterized. The stock was cut down, barrel jacket cut ahead of the rear sight and the buttstock was slimmed down. New front and rear sights were added, and very strangely they were constructed of a mixture of copper, solder and lead.
Why did Bubba modify it in such a way?
And can Bubba's modifications be removed in order for the rifle to be saved?
