Marijuana has helped patients treat ailments for years, with sometimes profound impacts. Medical marijuana has been legal in Maryland for five years. There are more than 160,000 medical cannabis patients in Maryland. People use it to help manage pain and treat anxiety, multiple sclerosis and more. While the medical community says more research is needed on cannabis, for which recreational adult use becomes legal in Maryland on Saturday, some patients told 11 News it has made a major difference for them.
