The Maltese love Brad Beans. Paired with Artichokes, garlic, lemon and olive oil, you have a winning Mediterranean dish! Easy to prepare, and so fresh in flavours, you need to try this to believe it. And, it's also great served cold at a picnic!

YOU NEED:
2 cans of whole artichokes in water
2 bags of young green broad beans (250 g each)
1 can of marrow fat peas (or a handful or two of frozen peas)
3-4 bay leaves
1 purple onion (or a few shallots)
lemon slices
5 thinly sliced garlic cloves
2-3 tsp. olive oil
water as needed
salt and pepper to taste
chopped parsley and / or mint to garnish
OPTIONAL - Maltese Sausage or a thick meaty white fish
