ELF, KR 010 Ekolot Elf single seat light sport aircraft or ultralight motorglider, from Ekolot USA.

The KR-010 ELF is a single-seater in the light sport and ultralight aircraft class. As an ultralight aircraft no medical or license is required to fly. re unlimited period and for the granting no medical certificate is required.

The KR 010 Elf is available as a turn key ready to fly light sport aircraft, with plans for the future to include a kit. The craft would fit into the ultralight category in the U.S. but would require a speed limiter as the KR 010 Elf is to fast for the ultralight category.

The low weight is based on consistent composite construction with modern materials. The wings are constructed in three parts and can be removed easily for transport. When driving the Polini THOR 200 comes with 29PS power used. The folding propeller is also made of composite construction.

The control system is standard stick and rudder control, with a center stick and left hand throttle. The ELF has a steerable nose wheel equipped with a brake. Suspension is supplied by the composite landing gear.

Power is supplied by the THOR the new THOR 200 a 29 HP single cylinder two stroke, with a clutch and electric start. Along with optimal power to weight ratio the innovative and compact design of THOR 200 provides a significant reduction in vibration.

The engine block with 193cc displacement, a 64mm bore and 60mm stroke is cast from light metal and provides 29PS power at a speed of 7400U / min., Even at the maximum operating temperature. The cylinder liner has a nickel-chromium coating, the cylinder is made of high quality alloy die casting with high silicon content and two chrome-plated and nitrided steel rings.

The engine has an electric starter and electronic ignition. A balance shaft eliminates vibration. The newly developed centrifugal clutch provides optimum safety not only in flight, but also during takeoff and landing.
