I took a leap of faith and left my past community to start anew. After years of unease, forceful effort and deluded attachment, I finally accepted the truth I was so afraid of. The people I was once so close to were never meant to be apart of my life for a lifetime. And freeing myself, in turn freeing them, was the truest act of love for all.
Community is vital for my livelihood, but the community has to be genuine and aligned. What I did was create space for the people who are actually meant to be a part of my life going forward. I embrace community, friendship, commitment, intentional effort. And I choose to share these precious moments of life with those I feel a full body yes with.
