MEI supports students in developing technical accuracy by combining listening, playing, and visual guidance within a simple, structured practice flow. Users can customize key parameters such as tempo and note range, allowing the exercises to adapt to different skill levels.
Each exercise follows three steps: a short preparation phase, a reference note to listen to, and an active playing phase. Visual fingering diagrams are displayed alongside the musical notation to help students associate pitch, valve combinations, and physical movement more effectively.
MEI is available for clarinet, oboe, and trumpet as a free beta web application for musical practice.
