How to Fix ‘File Name is Too Long’ Error in Windows Explorer.exe

The main reason behind this error message is a Windows file and folder naming convention.

Every operating system has its own policy for maximum character length allowed to name a folder or file. Minimum and maximum allowed character limit of a specific operating system may not be compatible with others. Though not mostly, but it could matter.

Chances are that the file having long file name problem was named and then packed or compiled in some other operating system rather than Windows OS.
