Описание: This video is of musicians Mighty Popo and Shakura S'Aida performing at Kigali Up Festival, which took place in Kigali, Rwanda on September 10th 2011. Mighty Popo is a Burundi-born Rwandan who splits his time between Canada and Rwanda, and is the pioneer of a sound he dubs "world blues." It is Mighty Popo's longstanding dream to start a music festival in Rwanda that led to the vision for Kigali Up. Shakura S'Aida is a Brooklyn-born, Swiss-raised and now Canadian-based versatile jazz and blues vocalist; she is a consummate performer with a scorching vocal style that has blown audiences away for 20 years. Kigali Up was born from a desire to enhance a developing economy, promote Rwanda as a tourist destination and expose Rwandan artists to international audiences. The festival had two stages featuring live performances by international, Rwandan and East African artists whose music celebrates Africa's deep, diverse musical traditions and the modern music that has grown from those roots.
