Hisun Sector E1 - Lifepo4 Battery Replacement / MAJOR UPGRADE!

Описание: In this video, I tackle the project of replacing the batteries in my Hisun Sector E1. These original batteries are deep cycle SLA batteries. There's 8x6v in series which equals 48v. I opted to replace them with 2x Eco-Worthy 51.2v Lifopo4 50ah batteries.

I wired them in parallel so that they form a 51.2v 100ah battery (5kwh capacity). The difference in weight is massive. The old batteries probably weighed close to 400lbs in total. The 2 lifepo4 batteries weigh less than 100lbs! Better yet, the power delivery is much smoother.

One of the biggest negatives I had with the Sector E1 was that when I would tackle steep hills, it would slow down significantly and crawl up the hill. With these new lifepo4 batteries, it just keeps chugging!

Specifically I was watching the amp draw from these new batteries, the e1 pulled 400+ amps without triggering any override from the Eco-worthy Batteries. I was thrilled!

The project is not too hard, you can definitely do it (if I did it, anyone can!). It took about 2.5 hours total, that's disconnecting all the old batteries and pulling them out and then fitting in the new batteries. I was able to reuse the old leads but depending on the battery replacements you get, you might need to make some longer leads for your batteries.

I did wind up buying a 48v lifepo4 battery charger that I installed inside the Sector E1 (there was plenty of room after removing the old batteries). I know that it is possible to reprogram the old charger to use a lithium profile but I wasn't entirely confident of tackling that so I thought it would be easier to just purchase a charger intended for that purpose (it was!).

All told, the project cost less than $700! Prices may go up due to tariffs but this is absolutely a worthwhile upgrade to your Sector E1. In fact, I would go so far as to say, make it a priority! I wish I hadn't waited as long as I did.

I'll continue to monitor and update as I continue to use this new battery pack but very pleased so far!
