Описание: An outtake from our next feature film showing the tidal rip that occurs on the north end of Stroma Island in the Pentland Firth between mainland Scotland and the Orkney Islands. Stroma is essentially uninhabited but the owner is on the island most days to tend to sheep. The island is part of Caithness which is the northmost mainland county of Scotland. The rip tides are caused by the force of tidal movement between the North sea and the Atlantic Ocean and the area is a very dangerous seaway. The current is so strong that the seabed of the firth is swept clean- have a search for "Pentland Firth seabed survey" video on youtube.
