Japan reportedly complained over Washington's use of the term "East Sea" in describing the location for a joint military exercise with South Korea.
Washington used the term to refer to the location for last month's training.
According to Asahi Shimbun, the U.S. military replaced the term with "waters between Korea and Japan",... after the Japanese government demanded a correction.
Tokyo reportedly stated the internationally established name for the waters,... which they claim as the "Sea of Japan",...should be used instead.
