In this video we walk the classic Pen y Fan Horseshoe, starting from Neuadd Reservoir in the Bannau Brycheiniog National Park.
The route climbs steadily to the ridge line before taking in Corn Du, Pen y Fan — the highest peak in South Wales — and Cribyn, completing a full horseshoe loop. After leaving the ridge, we descend via the old Roman Road and return to Neuadd to finish the walk.
At around 9 miles in total with a good amount of ascent, this is one of the best mountain walks in Wales, offering wide open ridge walking, big views, and a real sense of journey throughout.
The video is filmed as a relaxed, overview of the route, with on-screen prompts highlighting the landscape, and geography along the way.
