Tomsk State University staff together with foreign researches provide a complex of field investigations in glaciology, hydrology, meteorology, geomorphology, ecology, botany, zoology and soil science on the basis of Aktru Research Station.
The main aim of these investigations is study of climate-driving dynamics of glaciers, hydrological regime, cryogenic processes, landscape patterns and biota.
Unique observational series over dynamics of various physiographic processes which can serve as objects of monitoring of the natural environment are stored up.
Besides traditional long-term meteorological, glaciological and hydrological observations there are different international projects on studying of mountain mires in terms of climate-driving changes of landscape patterns, biogeochemistry and productivity.
