In this winter Hokkaido vlog, we traveled from Tokyo to New Chitose Airport by plane and explored some of the most beautiful and iconic places in Hokkaido ❄️✨
Snowy landscapes, wildlife encounters, peaceful countryside, and magical winter vibes made this trip unforgettable!

✈️ Flight: Tokyo → New Chitose Airport
• Winter flight prices vary a lot depending on airline and booking time
• Approx. ¥8,000–¥30,000 round-trip
(Low-cost airlines are cheaper if booked early; ANA/JAL usually cost more)
🚆 New Chitose Airport → Sapporo
• JR Airport Express train
• ¥1,150 one-way
• Travel time: ~35–40 minutes
(This is the easiest and most reliable option in winter)
🏞️ Lake Shikotsu (Winter Visit)
One of Japan’s clearest lakes, surrounded by snow-covered mountains ❄️
• Entry: Free
• Transportation (winter):
Public transport is limited in winter, so many travelers use day tours, shuttle buses, or taxi/private transport
• Approx. cost: ¥7,000–¥9,000 (when included in a winter day tour)

🐧 Asahiyama Zoo (Asahikawa)
Famous for its unique animal enclosures and close-up views of penguins, seals, and polar bears 🐻‍❄️
• Zoo entry: ¥1,000 (adult)
• Sapporo → Asahikawa: JR Limited Express
– Approx. ¥5,800 one-way
• Asahikawa Station → Zoo: Local bus
– Approx. ¥500 one-way

🌄 Biei & Furano
Known for rolling hills, snowy countryside views, and peaceful winter scenery
• Asahikawa → Biei / Furano: JR Furano Line
• Approx. ¥700–¥1,500 per segment (depending on distance)
• Trains and buses run in winter but are less frequent, so planning is important

🌲 Furano Ningle Terrace
A magical forest village with fairy-tale wooden cabins and handmade crafts ✨
• Entry: Free
• Extra cost: Depends on shopping or snacks
• Usually reached by local bus + walking or short taxi ride in winter
