All communities deserve access to a well-functioning circular economy. However, good local services for recycling and reuse can look very different depending on the context. Policymakers need to manage the tension between raising the bar for all, and supporting what works best locally.
Understanding local needs and capabilities, and designing policy around them, is part of a just transition to a circular economy. To illustrate this, our panel discusses the challenges and opportunities faced in two extremes: Scotland’s most rural and remote areas, and the UK’s dense urban centres. Discover how targeted approaches can address the diverse needs of different communities, leading to a fairer and more sustainable future.
