6/15/21:
On June 15th we headed to the second stop on our trip- Santa Fe Jct in Kansas City, MO. The morning started with a few trains in Fort Madison, including lots of BNSF SD70MACs. We then stopped at La Plata, MO, home of the OG VR cam, and caught some high-speed action including two PERFECT meets. After staying in La Plata until Amtrak arrived, we kept on moving west and caught an Autorack train with a Warbonnet trailing and an NS manifest on the KC District. Finally, we arrived at Santa Fe Junction in the late afternoon and caught plenty of action, including an insane lashup led by a pair of BNSF SD60Ms and an EMDX SD70ACe-T4. We also swung by the KCS yard and caught some cool yard power along with KCS #4006, the Veterans Unit! Overall, it was a great day along the transcon and in KC!
