In this video we talk about the on-court performance of Kobe’s rookie year shoes with Adidas: the Top Ten 2000.

Adidas brought back this shoe in its original setup, which is minimal in today’s standard but still works perfectly fine. The cushioning and support are both decent, and mimicking the shape and movement of Kobe’s feet - these have an amazing and slightly elevated court feel. The traction also performs well on both clean and dusty courts, pretty squeaky too. With the fit, I chose to go down a half size from my true size like for many other Adidas basketball shoes, and that’s what I would recommend for most people. Stability, torsional support and lockdown are all great from my experience.

27 years later, the Adidas Top Ten 2000 is still a beast on the hardwood. In terms of playability other than collection purposes, they are also much better than shoes like the Crazy 1, or “The Kobe” for example.
